Where’s the World’s Largest Film Plant?
August 30th, 2023 by BryanGarware Hi-Tech Films says the “world’s largest” window film plant is now in India.
The parent company of Global window films has completed an expansion to now make for what company representatives say is now the world’s largest film factory in Q3 of this fiscal year.
According to a release, the Mumbai-based company has expanded capacity at its Waluj, Aurangabad, India, plant by 75 percent. That makes for an increase of 20 million square feet, and the company’s plan is to max out the new line’s production capacity within 18-24 months.
That would bring total production capacity from 20 million square feet of film per month to 35 million.
The results showed a positive trend for Garware with 2.7 percent revenue growth year-over-year and a 2.9 percent growth in margin over the same time. Additionally, 35 percent of its revenue comes from the North American market, per the release.
Company vice chairperson and joint managing director Monika Garware says much of that is due to high-value-added specialty films which “account for a significant 80 percent of the company’s total revenues, playing a key role in maintaining revenue stability and driving profitability.”
