The Wide World of Window Film

SEMA returns in full in fall 2021 with more than 20 exhibitors aiming to assist the window film industry. The event’s health and safety plans are still in flux after last year’s all-virtual ‘SEMA360,’ but, at present time, the show was scheduled to be held November 2-5 in Las Vegas.

Automotive

3M—Booth #33061, 50059, 81060

3M Commercial Solutions Division will spotlight its new 3M™ Ceramic Coating at the 2021 show. The coating features a high-gloss, slick surface and offers a long-lasting protective finish for automotive paint, metal, plastic trim, wheels and glass, according to the company. The company will also focus on the launch of training dedicated to vehicle color change, which incorporates 3M™ Wrap Film Series 2080 and 3M™ Knifeless Tape.

CoolVu—Booth # 51169

The CoolVu team will emphasize its Auto Spa products and programs being launched at the show. The company’s transitional window film for autos is now supplemented with a range of window tinting products, including the “Black Ceramic” series. CoolVu Black Ceramic IRX films are infused with high-quality  ceramic nanoparticles creating rich “black” coloring and high-performing automotive ceramic window film, according to the company.

Eastman Performance Films—Booth #52051

Eastman Performance Films will showcase LLumar® Valor PPF at SEMA. The film combines the features of PPF, the advantages of ceramic coating and its Tetrashield™ protective resin system technology, according to the company. SunTek® Reaction PPF, which incorporates the benefits of ceramic coating, will be highlighted as well.

The company will also demonstrate its cutting software to accompany its PPF products. The software includes an extensive library of tint and PPF patterns.

Avery Dennison—Booth #52105

Avery Dennison will have live product demonstrations and expert training at SEMA. This is the first year that the company will showcase the best practices for its automotive films. The company will hone in on color change vehicle wraps, paint protection films (PPF) in gloss, matte and colored finishes, automotive window films and digital vehicle wrapping films.

Profilm—Booth #54159

Profilm offers a range of automotive window films—dyed extruded, carbon and ceramics. The company launched an automotive window film with a Total Solar Energy Rejected (TSER) performance of 62% on a 70% Visible Light Transmitted (VLT) film in 2021. Its new ProColor PPF range brings solid colors and subtle sparkles to its Ultra Clear Gloss products,

Ceramics

Ceramic Pro— Booth # 52147

Ceramic Pro is sure to hone in on its 2021 Kavaca PPF lineup at SEMA 2021. The company launched its Kavaca Instant Healing PPF in 2020. The film utilizes nanotechnology in the top-coat and adhesive, which permits the film to self-heal without direct application of heat, according to the company. Kavaca Matte, a translucent film that can transform any color into a matte finish, also launched last year.

Wintech Window Films— Booth #53095

Wintech will head to SEMA with two new products and an additional upgrade. The company now offers Advanced X900 Nano Ceramic Film and X200 Nano Carbon Film. The company has also upgraded its Advance Paint Protection Solution paint protection film.

Johnson Window Films— Booth #50083

Johnson Window Films’ Paint Protection Film (JPP) features a proprietary scratch-resistant, high-gloss, virtually self-healing topcoat on a six and eight mil transparent aliphatic polyurethane, according to the company. This topcoat is designed for application on painted vehicle surfaces and eliminates fine scratches over time. The product is available in 50-foot rolls in widths ranging from 12 to 60 inches.

PPF

Global Window Films—Booth #54077

Global Window Films will display its PPF at SEMA. The film is manufactured in an ISO-9001:2015 certified facility and has several noteworthy features, according to the company. The product is super gloss, has a hydrophobic clear coat, is soft to stretch and self-heals.

Windshield Protection

Racing Optics — Booth # 50101

Racing Optics will display and demonstrate its Windshield Defense™ protection products at this year’s show. Windshield Defense™ is a protective film stack consisting of three individually-removable layers, according to the company. The layers protect windshields from the breaking, cracking and pitting caused by airborne debris. Windshield Defense™ is available in vehicle-specific, pre-cut, pre-formed kits and uncut bulk rolls.
