Can I Have Your Attention Please?
I spoke to a good friend about starting this blog and she gave me a piece of fantastic advice. She said, “Be yourself.” This seems like it should be obvious, but I’ll admit it honestly hadn’t occurred to me yet.
When I was commissioned for this assignment by the amazing folks at Window Film Magazine, I was told what they were looking for. My immediate reaction was to begin conforming to their wants. After all, I aim to please. So much so, that my blog had already become something I didn’t want it to be; something I didn’t think you, as readers, would want to read. Something less than satisfying. I don’t see the point in spending time writing something you’ll skip over or roll your eyes when you see the headline. That being said, allow me to introduce myself.
My name is Jordan, many of you in the industry know me already as the Fusion Tools girl. What you don’t know is who I truly am and why I have an opinion that just might matter to you (hopefully).
So… in a nut shell, I’m an animal lover who has three dogs under my desk in our tint shop every day. I love Chinese food and coffee. I have a family I absolutely adore. And I prefer to spend as much time in my swimsuit as possible soaking up the sun and catching fish. I help install flat glass tint and security films jobs, rear windows, windshields and quarter or cargo windows on auto installs. I dabble in a bit of vinyl graphics and goof around on Photoshop. I have no desire to learn how to install PPF, but I really should. I love being good at something and have very little patience for things I’m not good at, like PPF. I know, I know, I can hear you all screaming tips and tricks and telling me, “It’s easy” from behind my computer screen already. Give me a break, ok?
Finally, I’d love to know what you want me to talk about. I could sit here and drone on about the same subjects that are constantly beat like a dead horse in the thousands of tint forums out there, or you could hit me up on my new Facebook page, Slightly Shaded with Jordan or @shadedjo in the Facebook search bar, and tell me what you want to read about. That is the purpose of this attempt to engage the masses, isn’t it? I’d much rather talk about what you want to read instead of what I think you should hear. Trust me when I say, what I think you need to hear is a rant for another day. 😉
Happy New Year comrades! See you in the Shade.
