International Window Film Conference Honors New Inductee into the Hall of Fame
September 27th, 2018 by Emmariah Holcomb
Ray Levy was inducted into the Window Film Hall of Fame today and he brought four generations with him as he received this honor.
The International Window Film Conference and Tint-Off™ opened this morning and Debra Levy, Window Film magazine publisher, told attendees everything the event has in store, including how to win a brand new truck!
The big news of that session was the announcement of the latest industry member inducted into the Window Film Hall of Fame—Ray Levy of Sunbelt Designer Window Films. He began his career as a licensed dealer and installer of Dupont’s Liquid Tint in the New York metro area. A little more than a decade later he established Sunbelt Designer Window Films as a dealer installer for 3M Window Films.
He said he has been in the industry longer than some people in the room were alive, and he tinted his first window in the eighth grade. “I’ve been installing every day since,” he said. “Every day.”
“Do not sell yourself short,” he said. ‘Window film is a great industry and do not be afraid to charge what you are worth.”
Levy brought his entire family to the event, four generations in fact. For more on Levy and his induction in the Window Film Hall of Fame, look for the Window Film video on windowfilmmag.com.
The show floor is now open in San Antonio. Stay tuned to Window Film for the latest from the event.
Ray levy, 58 years in the tint business! When he asked how many of us was older than 58 in that room, I seen very few hands! Great lecturer from Mr. Ray. I will think of him as a Tint God! The only question I didn’t hear nobody ask, that I wanted to know was “ Mr. Ray, are u ready for new and advanced films as well, such as printed, and liquid crystal films?”.
