October 18th, 2017 by Katherine Coig

Forbes released its 2017 “World’s Most Innovative Companies” list, which consists of 100 companies investors think will spawn profitable new ideas. And one Chinese company that cracked the top 50—KDX (Kangde Xin) Composite Material Co. Ltd., has ties to the window film industry.

The manufacturer landed at number 47, reporting 23.3 percent sales growth over a 12-month duration and innovation premiums at 48.5 percent. According to Forbes, innovation premiums measures how much a company’s current valuation exceeds the value implicit in its current business.

The company was founded in 2001 and houses five business segments: laminating film, photoelectric materials, carbon fiber materials, 3D (emerging intelligent display) and internet applications. Now, it has six manufacturing facilities, more than 30 subsidiaries and nine research centers in eight countries.

According to Forbes, the company’s market cap by the end of August 2017 reached $10.2 billion. The company has an annual production of more than 2.5 billion square feet of optical film per year, according to a release from the company.

And out of the six Chinese companies featured on the list, KDX ranked third.

  1. I would like to get samples of this companies range of films. It sound to me like they are going to be major players in the future with these large investments they are making into the manufacturing of window film.
Some of the Korean manufactures are also making some very impressive products and there pricing offerings are very good value.
In my personal opinion the American manufactures need to be very careful as these guys from Asia are playing catch up and putting in long hours and lots of hard work to enable them to grab market share.
