Entrepreneur released recently its 38th annual Franchise 500 List, representing franchises across the world that highlight the newest trends and industries that are poised for growth, and two window film business were among them.
Companies representing the window film industry include Troy, Mich.-based Ziebart International Corp., and Boca Raton, Fla.,-based Tint World.
Ziebart, which came in at number 167, was founded in 1959 by Kurt Ziebart, a German mechanic, in Detroit, Mich. The company began franchising in 1963, and now has 400 locations world-wide, with locations in 32 countries.
The company provides window tinting services, as well as paint protection film installations. In addition, Ziebart offers automotive detailing, fabric and rust protection, spray-on bed liners, glass repair and vehicle accessories.
Tint World made the list at number 257. The company was founded in 1982 and became a franchise in 2007, and now boasts 50 shops—48 in the U.S. and two outside of its borders. Since 2015, the company has added at least ten new units, amounting to a 25-percent growth rate.
The restyling franchise offers automotive, residential, commercial and marine window tinting and security-film services. Other automotive services provided include auto security, electronics, audio/video, styling, custom wheels and tires, detailing and reconditioning.
Entrepreneur comprises its list using a precise formula: system size, growth and financial/brand strength and stability.
