Yes they are doing this to some degree in the US, however, most lead to failure since car dealers typically do not pay well and have greater employee turnover rates.

For some odd reason there is a pocket of in-house dealership tinting successes going on in the mid-south of the US.

The quality of workmanship throughout my state is exceptionally good and the bar has been lifted so high now that anything bar a factory dark tint in the glass that doesn't look the same would be severely rejected.

eg. The guy I know that does the 80 a week does such a good job you would swear it was like that from the delivery line.

It's only when a similar installer can pick the short cuts that are done to achieve his numbers.

PS. Forgot to mention now the trend by car dealerships to employ their own tinters full time and source the film almost directly from the wholesalers.

So there could be some positives if people choose to look elsewhere for cheaper sources, I'd guess a lot of people wont do that as for easiness thogh

Too true!
A lot of people haven't bought new cars for years so when the sales person hooks up the deal finally, he then must introduce the buyer to the "aftermarket gunk girl" whose job it is to sell all the accessories that stop the car falling apart....BS

One of those items is window tinting.

It then becomes easier like you said to organise all this "at point of sale" for the customer and many just include the value onto their lease payments so it doesn't hit the hip pocket nearly as much.

There is also a very misconception that dealer film must be better because it's "factory tint."

Its defiantely true about "factory tint", we got lots of people asking for the same tint as fitted at the factory, when I tell them that its fitted aftermarket not factory some dont believe me
