I truly believe that the energy efficient programs proposed by the government will encourage more U.S. homeowners to make home improvements to conserve energy. In this way, people will save money from electric bills and preserve the environment.

As was mentioned the tax credit is a step in the right direction. Here is the message that needs to propagate through the powers such as the IECC that govern what can and cannot qualify. In many regions only "low E2" type glass can qualify for a tax credit with a film application. When you analyze the proportionate performance increase and resulting energy savings, you will find that in many cases the increase and resulting savings is far more on clear, bronze, grey, and even low E glass than it is on a "low E2" type.

So basically when it comes to performance enhancement of windows, the government is incentivising consumers to invest in making their already efficient glass a little bit more efficient and not supporting the part of the market that needs it the most, namely those that have the windows that can benefit the most from window film.

We need to change this.
