What Were the Top Five Stories of 2013?

There was a great deal of window film news in 2013, but what were the most clicked on stories on windowfilmmag.com throughout the year?

In the number one spot was the news in July that Maxpro Films’ new manufacturing line was up and running.

Number two was the news in March that Saint-Gobain appointed Stéphane Nicoli as general manager of the company’s specialty films division, the group responsible for the company’s window films and Solar Gard brand.

Number three was related to Window Film magazine’s 2013 International Window Film Conference and Tint-Off, and the much anticipated announcement of the champions.

In the Architectural Division, the first-place spot went to Ronnie Zdenek, president and owner of SPF Window Tinting in Hattiesburg, Miss. Second place went to Hann Kim, reigning 2012 champion and CEO of STM Solar Control in Los Angeles. Matt Adams, owner of Adams Window Tinting in New Bern, N.C., took the third-place bronze. Chris Brooks, the 2012 second-place winner and co-owner of Kauff’s Tint and Graphics in Palm Beach, Fla., took fourth place.

The news in May that 3M appointed Interwest as its new West Coast distributor took the number four spot. 3M announced it would distribute its window film products in California, Arizona, Oregon, Washington and Nevada through Interwest Distribution Co.

Rounding out the top five was the news that the Ohio Board of Motor Vehicle Repair now calls for tint shop registration resulting from the passage of Senate Bill 114 (SB114) this past December, all shops must register by March 22, 2013, when the new law goes into effect.
