‘Tis the SeasonDecember 18th, 2013 | Category: Industry News
A tradition that started back in 1963 has continued this year with a twist. A new addition has been made to 3M’s Building 220 Holiday Light feature in the form of ornaments made of the company’s newly launched Dichroic Glass Finishes.
The look is achieved by the films which are designed to mimic the brilliant iridescent look of pigment-less butterfly wings and strategic office planning. Plant engineering overrides the timers that turn the lights out at 6:00 p.m. or so to save energy. An email lets the employees with decorated offices know if they should turn their lights out and close their curtains, or leave their lights on and open their curtains.
But it isn’t only seasonal. In 1987, the company celebrated the Twins winning the World Series by spelling “Twins” with the lights.
This new product is the latest addition to the company’s surfaces portfolio, which also includes 3M DI-NOC™ Architectural Finishes and Fasara™ Glass Finishes.
