A New Venture
As I’m writing this, I’m preparing to head to my first Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) Expo in Orlando, Fla. As you’re reading this, I’m likely walking the show floor. For the window film industry, SGIA offers many crossover opportunities in the specialty graphics, which include vinyl car wraps and printing accessories.
This will mark my third trip to Florida this year on behalf of the window film industry and I couldn’t be more excited to see how closely the specialty graphics market is related to window film.
At Window Film magazine’s International Window Film Conference and Tint-Off™ this past September, car wraps stood out with demonstrations and the specialty graphics exhibitors reported having some of the best attendee interest of all of our booths.
When I attended my first SEMA Show last year, I noticed that vinyl car wraps were a huge pull for many window film attendees. In fact, in a poll run on windowfilmmag.com, 48 percent of Window Film readers said they think vinyl wraps will steal the spotlight during the upcoming SEMA Show.
Another growing trend for the architectural segment, building wraps, is one area in which window film dealers interested in entering the vinyl market may find an increasingly popular add-on.
When I return from the show, I’ll let you know how it went and what I found that could be useful to the industry, including trends.
What specialty graphics add-on service would you consider?
