Finalists Announced for Tint-Off Competitions

Today’s finalists have been announced for the 2013 International Window Film Conference and Tint-Off.

In the Architectural Division, four finalists were named. They are Ronnie Zdenek, president and owner of SPF Window Tinting in Hattiesburg, Miss.; Hann Kim, reigning 2012 champion and CEO of STM Solar Control in Los Angeles; Chris Brooks, the 2012 second-place winner and co-owner of Kauff’s Tint and Graphics in Palm Beach, Fla.; and Matt Adams, owner of Adams Window Tinting in New Bern, N.C.

At stake is $5,000, a gold medal and trophy, as well as bragging rights as the “World’s Best Architectural Window Film Tinter.” Second place will win $1,500 and a silver medal. Third will receive $500 and a bronze medal.

Twelve automotive finalists were also named this morning. Lucas Gonzalez, an installer with Adams Window Tinting in New Bern, N.C.; Scott Dray, glass coating specialist for The Auto Itch of Tampa Bay; Rob Ruska, owner and partner of Sun Stoppers of Cornelius, N.C.; Eric Bouchard, co-owner of Reflex Teinte in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada; Matt Adams; Ralph Van Pelt, owner of Flexfilm in Ranburne, Ala.; Jonathan Sanchez, film application specialist for Hi-Line Window Tint in Rochester, N.Y.; Randy Humphries, operations manager for Tint King in Billerica, Mass.; Caleb Silkett, manager of Midwest Tinting in Overland Park, Kan.; Salvador Hurtado, owner and tinter at Sal’s House of Tint in San Marcos, Texas; Les Helton, owner and installer for Performance Window Tinting and two-time automotive champion; and Gerardo Hernandez, owner of Extasy Tinting in El Paso, Texas will all compete in today’s finals.

First place will receive the grand prize of $10,000, a gold medal and trophy, as well as bragging rights as the “World’s Best Automotive Window Film Tinter.” Second place will receive $3,000 as well as a silver medal and third will receive $1,000 and a bronze medal.

Finals will be held on the show floor today. Winners will be announced at tonight’s Gala Awards Reception and Ceremony. Stay tuned to windowfilmmag.com for the announcement later today.
