3M Hosts Workshop on Energy-Efficient ManufacturingSeptember 13th, 2012 | Category: Industry News
In conjunction with the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Energy Star Industrial Partnership, 3M recently hosted a workshop on energy-efficient manufacturing which was attended by representative from 30 regional companies. The workshop offered information on 3M’s energy management strategies as well as tools and resources to help reduce costs and environmental impact.
“Our top-level leadership has recognized for a long time that energy-efficient manufacturing is critical to business success,” said Steve Schultz, Corporate Energy Manager at 3M. “Many years ago there were corporate goals for energy efficiency, which aligned with other company manufacturing productivity goals that continue today.”
Additional presenters included Elizabeth Dutrow, Energy Star industrial team leader, who spoke on Energy Star resources for analyzing, planning and performing.
