Window Film Holds Strong at United Nations Building

More than 700 Sudanese refugees attacked the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Cairo, Egypt recently, using stones and bricks. The refugees were protesting what they perceived as a lack of services provided by the commission, when the situation turned violent, but no injuries were reported inside the building. Shatter resistant window film had been applied to the windows in May.

"The last thing that I can imagine is that a United Nations' office to be attacked by the people whom it is serving, but it seems that everything is possible nowadays," said Walid Bishara, managing director of Armashield Egypt. "I believe that this case is the first live test regarding the efficiency and benefits of security window films for the United Nations offices in the region. The SRWF performed well and everyone at the office was impressed as well as the Egyptian police.
