EPD Opens Training Center for Window and Paint Protection Films
Energy Products Distribution (EPD), a Baltimore, Md.-based 3M-authorized distributor, opened a training center recently for window and paint protection films. Officials for the company say the 2,200 square foot facility is separate from its office and warehouse, and features ten wall-mounted hood and bumper molds for paint protection film, two plotters and wireless Internet access. The facility also contains residential and commercial windows for flat glass training, along with a garage door to provide access for vehicles in order to provide automotive training.
“The biggest challenges in the paint protection film world are a lack of product awareness and a lack of qualified installers,” says Manny Hondroulis, EPD’s marketing leader. “We hope that our marketing programs will address the first challenge, and our new ability to train installers in a unique environment will address the second.”
This announcement closely follows news of an additional facility enhancement regarding a new office space featuring additional audio-visual capabilities aimed at enhancing the company’s continuing education forum-EPD University. In December the company hosted 27 film professionals in its new facility for an International Window Film Association (IWFA) Solar Control accreditation course. Company officials report that the session is believed to be the largest of its kind to date.
