Australian Window Film Company Opens Doors to American Tinters

American window tinters who are interested in seeing the world, or at least Australia, and make some money in meantime, have the opportunity to do just that with the help of a tint-shop owner "Down Under" who is opening his doors to tinters from other countries.

Ric Mitchell, owner and manager of the Tint Professor in Melbourne, Australia, has the beginning of a "foreign exchange tinter" program going, having hosted David Hainer, a tinter from Texas for a couple of months last year. Hainer, who went to Australian during the summer months paid his own way down but was provided room and transportation as needed and earned a paycheck as would any other member of Mitchell's staff (he did have to pay for airfare to get to Australia and back).

"David was a great bloke and broke a few hearts when he left, we would be inviting him back if he wished to come. He was a great ambassador for [the United States]," says Mitchell.

Mitchell hopes to have more exchanges with tinters from around the world and said three of his 12 installers on staff are interested in traveling abroad, too, to experience window tinting from a different perspective.
