Solar Gard®'s 8Mil Film Passes ASTM Large Missile Level C

Solar Gard® recently announced that its Armorcoat® 8Mil safety and security film passed the ASTM 1886/1996 Large Missile Impact Level "C" or 4.5lb missile test. Conducted on 3/16-inch tempered glass, the anchored film withstood impacts from a two-by-four and then cycled at pressures equivalent to wind speeds of up to 140 mph. Company officials say Armorcoat 8Mil safety and security film is ideal for safeguarding glass in residential properties of up to 30 feet in height.
