Film as Accomplice
It's an unfortunate fact that the words "illegal window tint"
appear in a large number of police reports nationwide. Polling daily
news reports from around the country will provide an exhausting
number of incidents. Illegal tint is so closely associated with
"suspicious vehicles," that officers frequently admit
it is one of their number one tools for identifying potential criminals.
Here's
a condensed list of what has surfaced in recent days:
Collier County, Fla.Sheriff's deputies pulled a Ford
pickup truck driver for illegal tint, but later arrested him for
illegally hauling several hundred gallons of fuel. Andy Arael Rodriguez
Rodriguez, 28, was charged with unlawful conveyance of fuel and
obtaining fuel by fraud, both felonies
Catoosa County,
Ga.Jarred Smith, 33, was charged with a window tint violation.
But that's not all. Smith was simultaneously arrested and charged
with possession schedule I drugs, possession Schedule II drugs,
possession Schedule III drugs, possession Schedule IV drugs and
possession of a firearm during commission of a crime
Ross
County, Ohio34-year-old Michelle Collins was stopped by
a state trooper who issued her a citation for having excessively
dark window tint. A canine was then brought in to search the vehicle,
which turned up 0.4 grams of crack cocaine
Moultrie, Ga.Christopher
Miller, 20, was cited for an illegal tint violation, but also charged
with possession of marijuana, illegal possession of alcohol, an
open container violation and defective equipment
La Plata,
Md.Samuel Joseph Bullock, age 18, was pulled for a window
tint violation. But when Corporal R. Cuyler of the Charles County
Sheriff's Office arrived with her K-9 and performed a scan on the
vehicle, Bullock ended up with a possession of marijuana and paraphernalia
charge.
