Illegal Tint Leads to Multiple Marijuana Charges
It's
an unfortunate fact that the words "illegal window tint" appear
in a large number of police reports nationwide. Polling daily news reports
from around the country will provide an exhausting number of incidents.
Illegal tint is so closely associated with "suspicious vehicles,"
that officers frequently admit it is one of their number one tools for
identifying potential criminals.
Is Tint an Officer's Best Friend?
This week's list includes a high number of marijuana related offenses:
Alpharetta, Ga.-Illegal tint led to yet another drug bust recently,
when a police officer pulled Brandon L. Cesari, 18, of Lewward Walk Court,
Alpharetta, over and discovered marijuana. He was arrested for both offenses
Naples, Fla.-Tinted windows may have kept illegal drugs
out of view for the human eye, but they did little to interfere with narcotics
dogs recently in Fla. And illegal tint gave police the permission they
needed to pull and search Collin Parkes car. After dogs gave a positive
alert, police found eight to ten pounds of marijuana
Alexandria,
La.-It will cost Damino 'Bo' Davis $41,000 to get out of jail after
being pulled for illegal tint. In the process, police discovered he had
no driver's license and was carrying three pounds of marijuana
Naples, Fla.-When police recently pulled Nixon Joseph, 22, and
his passenger Fritzco Desir, 21, the two nearly got away with a simple
illegal tint charge-that is, until they found 10 grams of marijuana and
100 pieces of crack cocaine. While police were writing the tint citation,
a drug dog alerted them to narcotics in the vehicle
