Film as Accomplice

It's an unfortunate fact that the words "illegal window tint" appear in a large number of police reports nationwide. Polling daily news reports from around the country will provide an exhausting number of incidents. Illegal tint is so closely associated with "suspicious vehicles," that officers frequently admit it is one of their number one tools for identifying potential criminals.

Here's a condensed list of what has surfaced in recent days:

Stoddard County, Mo.-When Autumn D. Ross decided to pull into a private driveway, she failed to notice that her vehicle wasn't the only one attempting to do so. The resulting collision produced an injury accident and Ross was charged with careless and imprudent driving, but the officer also used the opportunity to cite Ross with a violation for illegal window tint … Opelousas, La.-In addition to a window tint violation, Gerald Paul Ducote walked away with a DWI, speeding and improper lane usage … Moulrie, Ga.- Felisa Shawnte Marshall, 24, was pulled for a tint violation, but also charged with driving without a license and theft by receiving stolen property … Gainesville, Fla.-a man accused of leading police on a slow speed chase for an alleged window tint violation wound up getting arrested on four felony charges. Once the chase ended, Tremayne Earl Ivey, 26, received a traffic citation for an opaque window tint, but he was also charged with fleeing and attempting to elude a police officer, resisting an officer with violence, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell and being a habitual traffic offender for repeatedly driving on a suspended or revoked license. According to the arrest report, the chase ended in a driveway when the driver of the car jumped out and ran toward the front door of a home. After a scuffle on the front steps, the man reportedly jumped a four foot high iron railing and ran toward the back of the house, then jumped a bush and returned toward the front of the house, eventually running through the front door and closing it. Police said they had to kick the door three times to get it open. After the arrest, police said they searched his car and found crack cocaine in it and the list goes on and on …
